RECYCLING

THE ISSUE!

A lot of rubbish that ends up in landfill does not actually belong there.... and it does not belong in our local environments too. So, where does it go? These items are actually given a second, a third or even a fourth life by being RECYCLED!

Did you know, that 51% of all household waste can and should be recycled in Australia?!

Apart from giving items a second life, there are many other benefits of recycling. Reusing materials means we need fewer resources (many that come from our environments) to create brand new items. Making new items from recycled items also uses less energy compared to making new items from new materials. Recycling  also increases the number of jobs in Australia which is great for our future!

There are 6 main streams of recycling! Click on the bins to see what can and cannot go in these recycling bins.
