EcoMarines TV:  Waste not, want not

YOU CAN DO IT (YOURSELF)! Teach people how they can help the environment.

  • Wrapper-Free Food: film yourself making a recipe for a wrapper-free lunch box!

  • Bee Bonanza: film a video about how you can attract bees to your garden.

  • Creative Composting: What can go in a compost? What can’t? Show us!

  • Waste warriors: make an artwork and film a time-lapse video of it being created!

SPREAD THE WORD! Educate the community.

  • Why Care?: Make a video about why people should care about the environment

  • Recycling Right: Teach people about recycling

  • Little Attenborough: Film a documentary about a local animal, plant or area TIP: you could even make this one with photos or videos that you already have on file!

  • The 3 P’s: You can only flush the 3P’s - Pee, Poo and Paper! We’re sure you’ve heard of no. 1’s and no. 2’s… but what’s a no. 3? Find out more and do some research for your video here!

MISSION MOVIES! A little bit tricky, but a lot of fun.

  • Move It: Make a dance to the EcoMarines song and film your dance crew!

  • Inspiring Interviews: Interview someone in your community who has done something amazing to help the environment or their community. Think of questions to ask them that can help inspire others to make positive changes in their lives.

  • Water, Water, Water: Write a song, poem or rap about the importance of saving water

Movie directors have to think of lots of different things. Here's some help to get you started:

  • Check out our inspiration board for video ideas OR come up with your very own idea

  • We recommend videos that go for 1 minute and 30 seconds

  • Think of a name for your video

  • Who is your crew? Fill out a Crew sheet (below) - this will come in handy when you submit.

  • It's a good idea to write a script or a rough plan of what you'd like to film (check out the sample below)

  • We would love to see EcoMarines shirts (if you have one)

  • Be original... this means not copying other scripts, and make sure you have permission to use other people's photos. You can use images from Unsplash or Tangalooma Island Resort... Just ask an adult for help if you're not sure!

  • If you'd like to edit your film, check out the apps recommended by Activate Entertainment.
